Chatbot
A chatbot is a program designed to hold a conversation with people through text or voice. Early ones followed rigid scripts and only recognized predefined phrases, so they got stuck on any unexpected question. Today’s rely on language models that understand natural language and generate fluent responses, which makes them far more useful. They are used in customer service, personal assistants, technical support or as an interface to internal tools. Their big advantage is being available at any hour and handling many queries at once; their limit is that they can be wrong or make things up, so on sensitive matters a human review is advisable. A good chatbot handles the routine and hands off to a person when needed.
